The Home Inspection This Ole House inspector performs your home inspection and prepares your report in accordance with the Regulations and Standards of Practice for New Jersey Home Inspections. You can expect the most thorough and comprehensive home inspection possible. During the home inspection, This Ole House inspector will comment and advise you on maintenance and operation of many components of the home. A typical home inspection takes 2 - 3 hours to complete. During that time we perform a visual, functional, non invasive examination of the current condition of the following:
The Radon Inspection Radon is a colorless, odor tasteless gas that occurs naturally in our environment. It moves through the ground into the home. If the radon level in the home is above the levels recommended by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), inhaling it can increase your risk of developing lung cancer. The good news is that high radon levels can be reduced relatively inexpensively. In fact, the NJ DEP recommends that every home be tested for radon. As a NJ Certified Radon measurement technician, This Ole House inspector places a charcoal adsorption canister in the home for 2 - 6 days. It is then sent to an independent licensed laboratory for testing. Results and recommendations are available in about a week.
As a matter of convenience This Ole House inspector will schedule a wood destroying insects inspection to be performed by a Department of Agriculture certified firm. The firm will inspect for termites, carpenter ants, carpenter bees and powder post beetles. A report is provided to you directly from the firm. |
